The shop
Bubba Pizza is at Shop 1, 38-40 Bell Street, in Torquay's old town centre, about five minutes' drive from north Torquay. It's one of a family-owned chain of pizza shops around Melbourne and Adelaide, with the nearest other store at Waurn Ponds.
The pizzas are on homemade bases, in three ranges: Bubba's Faves, traditional and gourmet. There's pasta, schnitzel and lasagne too. It's a good all-rounder for a big group, and the deals make it one of the cheaper ways to feed a house full of people.

Meal deals
The deals are the point: two or three large pizzas with garlic bread and a drink, a family feast of two family-size pizzas, pizza-and-pasta combos, and five or ten large pizzas for a party. The Dubba Bubba, any two large pizzas, is pickup only. A cheeky lunch combo pairs a pizza with a can of drink.
Pasta
Bolognese, carbonara, amatriciana, chicken and bacon alfredo, pollo funghi, a calabrese with salami and olives, and a primavera for the vegetarians.

Bell Street
Pick up a pizza and eat it at the beach. Bell Street runs down to The Esplanade, and Nordenfine is a few doors along for an ice cream afterwards. Bell Street Fish and Chips is close by for anyone who'd rather have fish.

People like the friendly staff, the tandoori chicken pizza, the beef burger pizza, the chicken and bacon pasta and the chocolate lava cake, and there's a vegan selection. When it's the right call
Bubba is at its best when you're feeding a crowd on a budget. The party deals for five or ten large pizzas are the simplest way we know of to feed a full house, a footy team or a birthday party, and the pasta deals mean nobody's stuck eating pizza if they don't want it. It's also handy if you're already on Bell Street, near the pubs and Blackman's Brewery, and want something quick to take home.
Pickup is often quicker than delivery on a Friday or Saturday night, and the Dubba Bubba deal is pickup only, so it's worth the short drive into town.
Getting there
Bell Street is in the old town centre and runs down to The Esplanade. Coming from north Torquay, it's about five minutes' drive. There's street parking along Bell Street and in the side streets, but on a summer evening allow a few minutes to find a spot.
How it compares
Of the other takeaway pizza shops, Town & Country in Torquay North has the best reviews and more pasta and risotto, Dough Bros on Geelong Road has simpler pizzas and good meal deals, and Sugo on Pearl Street has the most vegan choice. Bubba's strengths are the size of its deals and its Bell Street spot, close to the beach and the pubs.
