Aerial view of Torquay coastline towards the ocean

Parasailing in Torquay

See the Surf Coast from above — an unforgettable aerial experience

Fly Above the Surf Coast

Parasailing offers a completely different perspective on the Surf Coast. Towed behind a boat, you'll rise 50–100 metres above the ocean with panoramic views stretching from Torquay to the start of the Great Ocean Road.

It's one of the most accessible aerial adventures — no experience needed, the ride is smooth and gentle, and the views are extraordinary. Perfect for couples, families, or anyone who wants a thrill without the intensity of skydiving.

What to Expect

Flights typically last 10–15 minutes in the air
Solo, tandem, or triple flights available
Take off and land from the boat — you don't even get wet (unless you want to)
Suitable for ages 6+ and all fitness levels
Operates in calm to moderate conditions — best in summer

When & Where

Parasailing operators run from the calmer waters around the Bellarine Peninsula and Queenscliff — about 30 minutes from Torquay. Some operators also offer sessions from boats departing closer to Torquay in summer when conditions allow.

The best season is November to March when the weather is calm and warm. Morning sessions tend to have the smoothest conditions before the afternoon sea breeze kicks in.

Book ahead during school holidays and long weekends — parasailing is popular with families and fills up quickly.

More Aerial Adventures

Looking for an even bigger adrenaline hit? Skydiving over the Great Ocean Road takes the aerial experience to the next level — freefalling from 15,000 feet with views up and down the coastline.

For water-based thrills, try kite surfing or surfing. For the complete local guide, see things to do in Torquay.
